Beninese-born Nigerian Afropop singer Ayra Starr burst onto the scene in 2021 with her eponymous extended playlist and its lead single "Away". "Away" peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Top Triller Global chart. That same year, her debut album, 19 & Dangerous was released to critical acclaim, especially the lead single, "Bloody Samaritan" which found favorable international reception. It was the first solo song by a female artiste to reach #1 on the Nigerian Top 50 chart.
